This is worth buying if you don't want to use your controller to navigate through the menus and stuff. I bought this because I'm also using my xbox 360 as a media center, so while watching a movie on it, it sucked to have to turn the controller back on (cuz they go to sleep after so many minutes of inactivity). This one is nice, I was tempted to buy the cheaper non-microsoft one but I'm glad I didn't. This one is really nice :)Customer Review: XBox 360 Remote Control

Does what its supposed to do. We got it to make watching Netflix instant movies on the XBox more convenient. The remote gives you better "pause", "stop" and"play" control than with the game controller. Well worth the $20. Only drawback: You have to aim the remote DIRECTLY at the XBox for it to work... if you are even slightly off it does not work. if you use your 360 for any type of media such as music or video this is a must have. you can do all your menu surfing and song skipping without having to turn a controller on and hassle with it every time.Customer Review: Best Feature

The Best part of this remote, is the worst part of using an Xbox 360 controller. When using the controller, you generally have to be very careful how you set it down. If you accidentally bump one of the triggers, it'll fast-forward, or rewind your program; so generally you have to turn off and back on your controller whenever you need it. With the remote, all you have to do is pick it up, and use it. No more having to be extra cautious with your controller. The remote works fine on the Xbox, but we are having trouble getting it to work on the TV. The TV code that came with the instructions does not seem to be working. Its worth it for the Xbox, though, especially when you're using it as a netflix remote.
