Video Game Reviews of Xbox 360 Play & Charge KitCustomer Review: AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? Summary: 1 StarsI plug in the cord, attach it to the controller, turn on the consol (tried my pc too) and nothing....the little light above the cord that should be red while charging, and green when fully charged doesnt light up. Anyone else run into this?
Customer Review: It is better than constantly buying batteries Summary: 3 StarsIt is indeed better than buying disposable batteries but the charge on this charge and play kit has not lasted twenty five hours for me, not once. It also doesn't last nearly as long as the other one I bought that came with the red controller (I would recommend getting the one that comes with the controller if you're set on buying one).
BUT...both kits "hum" into my headset while connected for charge during game play. Sometimes it makes my mic stop working in game and I have to "reset" my console to get my mic to work again, yep, turn it off and on again. BUT it doesn't happen ALL of the time, just sometimes, which is more than enough when I'm playing with friends! Right!?! It is better than constantly buying batteries though...for real! BUT...I think I'll take Jason C. Hill's advice for next time though and just buy rechargeable batteries instead of a kit.
Since I've had it, the charge has lasted about ten to twelve hours each time. It lasted fifteen hours once, and only once.
Customer Review: Worthless Summary: 1 StarsThis item is nearly useless. The battery never charged at all, it stays red for all of 2 seconds and then goes to green. Try to use the "charged" battery and the control doesn't even power on let alone play. So basically ya just payed 15 dollars to turn your wireless controller into a wired controller.
Edit--Amazon is amazing as always made it right quickly and painlessly.
The 2nd play/charge kit works but still even brand new didn't hold a close to what was stated. So over all the item seems to be hit or miss and time will tell how well it stands up. I will update down the road to how well the battery charge holds with time.
Current recommendation is to look to a different product
Customer Review: Short Life, Waste of Money Summary: 1 StarsWhile the Play & Charge kit seems like a good idea, and works well at first, I'd have to say it was a waste of money.
I have three of these, and after about 6 months of light use each battery pack gets less than an hour of gameplay per charge. I end up having to keep them plugged in almost constantly - only two controllers can be charged simultaneously, so if you're playing 4-player halo, chances are someody's battery pack is gonna go dead and be unable to charge at some point.
You can buy a lot of AA's for ~$18, they're more reliable, and last tons longer.
If you don't want to buy batteries, buy a wired controller; if you want wireless, buy a big pack of AA's at costco.
Customer Review: Great accesssory but not very sturdy Summary: 3 StarsI frequently game 24+ hours at a sitting. Hi, my name is Celeste and YES, I'm a gamer.
I keep my P&C plugged in constantly and the the thing no longer charges my controller. Why? Because the wire is corrupt - broken.
Okay, yeah, I've tripped over it a few times, but my now dead ancient 360 which is supposed to RRoD if you even look at it, was here LOOOOONNNGGG before my Play N Charge and is still good to go if my DVD drive hadn't crapped out on me.
You have NO idea the abuse my poor 360 has taken and kept on playing! A few trips and tugs on the the connector line should NOT break this thing!
