Customer Review: What were they thinking
Summary: 1 Stars

To make a good headset isn't that hard. For some reason they just couldn't do it. First off, the mic isn't long enough to reach close to your mouth and the mic sensitive enough to work when its not right in front of your mouth.

The second big thing that they messed up is they put the MUTE button in the middle of the cord instead of by the controller. Think about it, your hands are already by the controller, add a mute button where your hands are. It is a such a pain if you have to mute you have to find this switch somewhere half way on your body and look at it to figure out which way to slide it.

Don't buy this headset when there are better ones for the same price.

Customer Review: junk
Summary: 1 Stars

I didn't expect much from this bargain-basement headset that came with my xbox 360. One look and the first word that came to my mind was "junk". However, I did expect it to work more than 1 week before crapping out. It worked great at first. Now, if I jiggle the connection long enough, I can sometimes hear my friends having a good time playing L4D2 as I try to get out a distress signal.

I'm already shopping for a non-Microsoft headset that doesn't suck. I can't understand why they pair up such a cool gaming system with such an inferior accessory.

Customer Review: Give some serious thought to getting a better headset.

The headset that came with my xbox was wired and lasted a while before crapping out. When it did die, the mic simply stopped working though I could still hear. I went out and bought the 17 dollar wired headset as a replacement as the wireless ones are ridiculously expensive. I'd had the replacement headset for a month when it started crapping out too. I don't understand the design change as the plug into the controller is much less secure. Now the function of the headset comes and goes. I have to jiggle the wire where it connects to the controller to get the mic to work though I can usually hear everyone.

I'm guessing microsoft just cut lots of corners in making these as a headset should last at least a year. Everyone I play with has had similar problems. I'm suffering through jiggling the headset as opposed to wasting another 20 bucks on one thats just going to do the same thing. I'm not quite ready to put the 60 bucks down on the wireless version. Then to have to have one more thing with batteries that will die in the middle of a battle.

Also, the volume on this headset is horrid. I can barely hear people with it on max volume. Overall a much worse product than the original headset that I assume is no longer available. Its a really basic piece of hardware and essential to the Live experience. Why can't they do it properly?

Customer Review: Doesn't last more than 7 months.
Summary: 1 Stars

I have only had this item for 7 months and it stopped working. I took care of it and didn't toss it around. Many of my friends on live have had this mic break on them relitivly quick. Not worth your money, just by the wireless headset.
