this hard drive come in very handy if you go online with silver or gold membership packages, every game you insert into the xbox 360 requires an update before you play them, if you only have a memory card you will get mad in a hurry, because the updates take so much space. that is where the hard drive comes in very handy. you can also, insert a music cd and select save to hard drive and your cd can now be played while you are playing a game, how cool is that to replace that crappy music that programmers put on games that you spend in excess of $50.00 usd. even if you only get the 20 gb version it is still worth it if you play the xbox online.
