Customer Review: This product solves the "HDMI Handshake" reboot problem.

When I recently upgraded to a Panasonic plasma flat panel, I still wanted to hook up my Turtle Beach headphones via the audio output off of my xbox, while also being able to hook up video to my flat panel via HDMI cable.
Unfortunately, I do not have an audio receiver with HDMI video pass through, so my first solution was to try and modify the standard Xbox RCA cable. I successfully did that and it did work -- kinda. A side effect to removing the gray plastic sheathing from the end of the cable so that it can fit alongside an HDMI cable is that if you are playing games, then switch TV inputs over and check up on sports scores, then flip inputs back to Xbox, the xbox will reboot itself after it discovers inputs have been changed.
I tried further modifying my standard Xbox RCA cable, but wound up butchering it and rendering it completely useless.
It seemed I was resigned to ponying up exorbitant amounts to MSFT to pay for their "official" Microsoft Xbox HDMI + RCA cable combo, but after scouring the interwebs and even calling Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX I have learned that that product is discontinued. (!!!)
So left with little option left, I tried this third party adapter after having read reviews on other third party audio dongles and learning that they too caused the input switch reboot issue.
This one, at least for me, does not.
My setup includes:
An older 2007 model Xbox 360 with HDMI output to my Panasonic TC-P50G20.
This product pictured as the audio dongle hooking up to an RCA male-to-male cable to my Turtle Beach x31 headset.
I recommend this as the choice of which cable to use for xbox audio output if you need to hook up a headset using RCA, but still want HDMI video glory.
