Video Game Reviews of Medal of Honor AirborneCustomer Review: Medal of Honor Fails Its Duty! Summary: 2 StarsI was looking forward to playing this game as I have loved the first MOH title. I was extremely disappointed however, when I started playing this game. I don't know whether it was the piss-poor manual that didn't even explain controls like "jump" and "removing the rifle grenade". I ended up accidently finding out how to jump in the 5th mission. Not one place in the manual did it tell you that "Y" is the jump button. Who did the editing in the manual???
I also didn't like the iron sights on the weapons. My guns jumped around too much and I wasn't able to get an accurate shot at long range. The sniper rifle (which I loved in the previous titles) is unforgiving and if you do anything less than a head shot, be prepared to have to shoot your enemy again.
When you die, the game makes you re-jump out of the airplane again. If you've destroyed any objectives up to that point, they are still destroyed except the game re-spawns ALL the bad guys you fought and killed before. That was stupid. This game could have taken a lesson from Battlefield: Bad Company and made sure the enemies were dead, too.
Finding objectives with the compass was a pain in the rear! The compass helps only a little bit and when you do destroy an objective, you have to do CONSTANT backtracking until you find a way to reach the next one. That was more annoying than anything.
Buy at your own risk. The game does have good graphics and the ability to upgrade your weapons is nice, but all in all, if you are looking for a great WWII shooter, just stick with Call of Duty 2 and World at War.
Customer Review: Medal of letdown Summary: 2 StarsNot exactly a fair fight. The multiplayer is garbage. If your allies, you parachute into the action. Sounds cool right? Not when enemies snipers just keep picking you off before you hit the ground. Lets talk hit detection. Pretty much, no matter where you shoot a Nazi...he will simply shrug it off and run away. The difficulty is really off on this one. Sure, you can take some hits, but the enemies can take half a clip of .30 caliber ammunition and still charge at you too! Also, let's say you die, you are started in a spot where it may take minutes (1-2) or (5-7) for your "squad" to show up and help you. So basically, for some unknown amount of time, you must fight the entire German army by yourself. Phew, my "squad" is finally here. I hope they can help me out now. Aaaaawe they are all dead from a single grenade. Your "squad" AI makes them act like a bunch of drunken raccoons, rather than a crack airborne unit.
Customer Review: Very Good! Summary: 4 StarsIt is very nice game, similar to the latest MOHA, but you can get very fun by graphics and sounds, you can play several times and discover new things every time.
Customer Review: Its addicting but tough Summary: 5 StarsI've been playing for a couple days now. I start playing and can't stop. Playing in casual (easy) mode is challenging and you can expect to die in every mission. Medals are hard to get too. All characters seem to adapt to your movements (almost like AI). Watch out when they sneak up and start fighting you because they can beat you down quickly.
The graphics are pretty good, but not what I expected. The soldiers respond to being shot instead of just falling over. Weapons modifications can come from making incredible shots as well as for strings of kills with no misses. The Springfield rifle focuses and zooms fairly lifelike and is my favorite. The Shotgun is handy for trench fighting.
I have not played in Xbox Live yet, and don't expect to with this game until I master it.
Customer Review: Wow Summary: 5 StarsLots of fun. I could play over and over. I just wish it was longer, the games plays through fairly quick.
